Most definitely! I did not say it would not happen, just that we might be in for a long wait!

How would those silver Kennedys end up in these rolls?

Desperate times. Either a desperate collector, desperate thief, or a desperate heir (to an inherited coin collection) finding it easier to spend than sell the coins. It might also be an older collector with no heirs hoping to make a CRH very happy! There is more than one CCF member that has "spent" a collectible coin hoping to spark interest in a potential new collector!

Or people don't realize they are silver. My friend could not tell the difference until I dropped one on the table! Unmistakable beautiful sound. Silver!!

actually, I ended up finding 13 of the silver halves, as I went back to the same bank the next day and asked if they had anything else. The tellers checked out their trays (why they didn't do that the day before I don't know!) and they found another two rolls worth of halves, including three more silver 06-S's! Also among all those rolls I found 12 regular clad proof halves dated 2004-2006, and also not a single coin was from before 2002! Somebody was REALLY desperate for $$$ !

pardon my ignorance, but all I really deal with is anything I can find in circulation, so I don't really know the makeup of the silver proof sets. Weren't there silver dimes and quarters in those sets too? If so, whoever let these halves go probably gave this bank all of the dimes and quarters, too!

when I slid the coins out of the rolls, the blazing white edges of those proofs were striking in comparison to the gleaming red edges of all of the NIFC coins. I should have photographed that!

You are correct- one dime and five quarters, all 90%
