Hey Stoneman, This was one of my top three, but they are all pretty much a tie so call it a score off the top of my hit list as well. Took me two years to find one, but if things work as they usually do now that one has shown up another one or two more will pop up soon. It's just a question of who finds those other ones!

It only took me three and a half years, but I finally got this one slabbed for my DDO-001 collection. It is verified as DDO-001 and I think they even sent it off for verification as the submission was listed as "consultant" for a couple weeks. But it came back ANACS MS 65 RED so pretty pleased with that result.

I do not know. I am one of the most beginner in the penny and cents. Except I see something in 949 and a superb coin nothing more. Not many descriptive for this Red coin. I think for me this coin is like meteo media here: 14 hours of snow just 2 cm but first hour 5 cm. This it is for me now. I will go further to see and understand this one.
Superb coin which come to be a rare and hard to catch. I am glad for you TROP

Very cool. Back to my stash of '49 Ds to see what might be there.

I'm impressed by your devotion to your chosen field and congrats on getting this obviously difficult slab into your collection. I look forward to a comprehensive summary of your 001 slabs if you decide to do that.

Thanks folks! Yeah it's sort of final push time to get the last of the DDO-001 dies slabbed so that I have at least one graded from every year. There are 21 dies not slabbed yet, of which I think 7 I just don't have and another 4 or 5 with tricky attributions (no die markers on VV) so could fail at having the TPG put it on the label as die 1. Over the holidays I will be rounding up the remaining ones for another ANACS submission to try and get a final answer as to what exactly is missing and what all the grades are for upgrades down the road. And I always forget about 1949 DDO-001, since for some magical reason that webpage is not linked to anything clickable on the site's date page but there is a die 1 for 1949-P. I don't suppose anyone would object if I posted the full list here, even though there wouldn't be any images.

Thanks Stoneman, I didn't have the link handy. It is one that I learned about maybe a year ago and still haven't found a great example as I wasn't really ever looking for a minor doubled eyelid for that year.
