Gorgeous, sharp strike. I was thinking AU-58 slider. The reverse looks MS-62.

It is difficult to see just how many (lots or few) tiny nicks and hairlines may be hiding under the patina.

Patina not particularly attractive to my eye, but that comment is necessarily personally subjective. When it comes to a nice patina, I prefer even gray.

Tiny amount of patina cameo wear on the high points of the design, both sides. Slight fingerprinting at 2 o'clock obverse, but should affect eye appeal only.
'E PLURIBUS UNUM' looks to be irregular - a variety?
A bit difficult for me to grade, but I will say
AU55.

AU55 or MS62. its not that the photo are not good, the toning is difficult to see through for field scratches. this is one better in hand to grade. I'm leaning towards the AU grade

Maybe a slight rub on the leg, but I don't see even a hint of wear elsewear. I'd say MS-62.

Has anyone used the conservation service at a TPG?

Would a coin like this be worth trying, because I have a couple of coins with similar surfaces?

AU 55 to 58.

99%+ of Trade dollars out in coinland have been messed with in some form or fashion to "make them look better".

At least yours hasn't been cleaned.....yet!

Enjoy it as it is and leave it alone.

PCGS was very generous in my opinion.

(However, it is easier to grade a coin "in-hand" versus having to do it from a couple of pictures!)

Nice. If you haven't already, are you submitting to CAC?
