You guys are having way too much fun on here. I thought collecting was a bunch of old grumpy men sitting around arguing about how much there buffalo is worth and how many gallons of milk they could buy with it back then....hehehe

Yeah.....it's all about "the people" here on CCF. Having a sense of humor and not being "serious" all of the time. There isn't a better place to come for answers to your questions about anything in the "coin realm" either !!
Information is golden, (and there are many coin forums for that) but keeping this forum fun and interesting and also making good friends is what'll keep you here on this one!.....
Having some of the most knowledgeable coin people in the country/world right here on CCF isn't bad as well !!

I beg yer' pardon !!

Anyway, as I was saying, MY buffalo is worth a good deal more than when I got it as a child, why....I could buy 15 nickels for the price of one compared to now ! let me tell you !.......And did I mention that the price of milk was nearly free when I was a wee lad ? Do you realize how many gallons of milk I could have bought with it ?

.......just kidding !.....hey I'm only 39 years old ! And I rarely get grumpy.....just tired !...

This is far too many to find by chance.

If you found four or five then I'd say it was a fluke but 17 had to have been caused by the actions of collectors. If the rolls are like those by Brinks then a very large number of '41's hit the hopper at one time. Probably it would take at least ten rolls to come out in this quantity.

If they were rolled from smaller hoppers then a single roll would cause this.

It sounds to me like either a collector got tired of holding so many coins and spent all but the best ones or a dealer decided to make some room in the vault.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

My favorite was the 1964D with 1,7887,297,160 and almost as many of the 1964. For many, many years after those were made I used to bet people for coffee that if they had a few Nickels in their pockets or purses that at least one would be a 1964. Won a lot of coffee with that one. Eventually most Nickels were being made in large quantities so that didn't work anymore.

Our friend Carl is one forum member who "actually" can remember wayyyy back to how many gallons of milk he could get with a Buffalo nickel !........
But I wouldn't trade his wisdom and experience with coins for ANYTHING and am happy he's part of the CCF family !....

I would agree, there are a large number of 1941 Jeffs out there. I never kept count, but for a 60+ year old coin there sure are a lot of them around.
