Quote: Ok, it's times like these when I think we could use an off-topic board for these goofy tangents. You mean like this one? Now I know why I have never seen you posting in that section!

I see you got in! Quote: I thought that forum was inactive since my opt-in requests were never answered. Haven't you ever wondered where posts like the Never Ending Story and the Aussie-US Relations (a.k.a. Kanagaroo) topics disappeared to?

This might explain the hair. He later went on to invent electric golf carts. I'm sure that before long, the mods will put this thread in off-topic. Next time, I'll know where to start

I know this is off-topic when it comes to spotting a mislabel, but it is really on-topic when it comes to the coin in question... What did this Ike end up selling for? (I need reference material for the GtP contest!)

It's currently at $4.50 with 20 hours to go. What is more, another Franklinhower appeared. This time it's a Bicentennial 1976D in a GCGS MS-70 slab, described as "Franklin" and "Silver". Silver, huh?

Now I'm even more baffled. The SAME person sells Franklin half dollars and states that they portray Franklin. What wouldn't be anything worth mentioning but it somehow complicates his previous statements even more.. Or maybe all US coins portray Franklin? Apart from the SBA, of course.

Well, there are rumours of silver Ike planchets accidentally getting sent to Denver and accidentally being stuck and released. But they are just rumours! Quote:Or maybe all US coins portray Franklin? Maybe he thinks Franklin is American English for Dead White Guy? Quote: We can only hope! I consider him one of the more brilliant and widely gifted Americans of his age--and perhaps even to today.
