In my lifetime I've probably only see 2 and they were minor. This coin was at some point completely corroded and harshly cleaned. There might not even be enough there for a TPG to authenticate. I agree Thad, it's about as cull as it gets. @Tbop, could be, but I have no idea. MM position and dot placement is right so @machine, no clue. At best $200 |

About the best you can hope for is a no-grade "Authentic" decision. Petty horrible coin. You're more adventuresome than I would have guessed.

I figured it would go north of $300 but not over $350.

It's a thrilling find...I probably wouldn't have given the coin a second look, even as a 1909-S, based on it's condition. Way to go.
