This is on a wall of a downtown Minneapolis coin dealer. 100,000 cents It is quite the site to see. And the dealer was very pleasant to talk and deal with when I went.

I would bet that each coin in a stack is glued together but the stacks might not be glued together. I would think it would just be too unstable without them being glued into stacks- one little bump and you have a big ol' pile of copper on the floor I am not saying you would need some industrial strength epoxy or anything, just a small drop of Elmer's glue would be enough for stability and they could still be easily taken apart. Pretty dern cool nevertheless

I just had to find more info on that picture: http://www.pennypyramidproject.com/World Record Attempt Completed; April 17 th 2006 289,318 pennies, World Record Attempt - Main Pyramid plus Column - Specifications Height = 27.75 inches (Main Pyramid) +13.85 inches (Column) = 41.6 inches Width = 30 inches Length = 30 inches b = 40 pennies across SH = 13 pennies Column Configuration- Hexagonal base 7 pennies Height = 13.85 inches SH = 6 pennies Number of Floors = 40 Total Penny Count = 1680 Classic Pyramid Equation Pennies in Pyramid =((1/3)*b³ + (1/2)*b² + (1/6)*b)* (SH) Bezos Penny Pyramid Equation, 1982 where, b = number of pennies laid across on one side of a square based pyramid SH = Stack Height , (number of pennies in each stack)
