It does look like a minor DDO on the ear, or it's a bubble. Have you tried depressing the area?

Jim. Nice find...I have 4 2015 D with the Doubling I just found a week and a half ago... I live in WA State Might I ask your State so we can see how far they are spread out?

I think it looks normal the hair edge near the ear looks normal.
2015-D-LSC-There-Must-Be-Something-To-These-Doubled-Lobes.
2015 and 2016 had a different hair design on those two years.

Coop, are you looking at the lobe or the hair? I posted about the doubling on the lobe. The same lobe doubling Daves Errors posted about not long ago.

Coop: I thought I saw a difference on the obverse but could not quite figure it out. I was not sure if it was a design change or the result of die wear. Thanks for the lesson.
