The tippy tops of the obverse design elements APPEAR to have rub, but it's only the slightest bit of moderate strike, especially considering the BEASTLY strong strike on the reverse.
Note that the field centers at left and right of bust are undisturbed, indicating mint state.
MS-64. Eye Appeal 9/10.
If you haven't submitted it yet, do so with your next batch of submissions. Please NGC or PCGS, not ANACS for this one. ANACS copper gets no respect.

Beautiful coin. I love these large cents, especially the coronet cents.

Looks like it's in a 2x2 which makes grading tougher.

Sorry guys, just don't see this as MS. Side bet with moxking for $5 if it comes back MS straight.

Beauty! Definitely mid-MS reverse. Obverse is tough to grade by the photos. If I had to guess it spent time in some sort of album and got a little bit of rub on the one side?

arrrghhhh but if you pay 60 bucks its "conserved" That is a fine looking coin regardless of the cleaned grade. It jumps right at ya.

Looks cleaned from these photos, so I'll agree with NGC.
@lummycam, I get where you're coming from, but no. The difference being if the original surfaces were altered. If you can remove whatever residue without effecting the original surfaces, it's ok. Otherwise, you're in some trouble.

Awww, it didn't look cleaned to my old-man foggy eyes. A beautiful coin regardless... The reverse is one of my favorite designs in US coinage. Are you going to crack the slab and put it back in a 2x2? I would.
