Im lucky to find 2 half dollars not rolls just loose coins.. funny though the only one I found last time was a 1965 40% half.

WOW you did great. For many, many years I have been getting rolls of halves from banks in my area. Usually vrom 2 to 10 rolls every few weeks and never anything of any real value. I do it mostly for the fun of spending them. Now all banks in my area refuse to take them in, order them nor do they want them. One bank's officer told me they would not even order any for old, steady, consistant customers. I even said what if I threatened to close my accounts. Just a smile and said your choice.

I would close the account right then. One of my banks wanted to charge for getting boxes. I didn't renew a couple large CD's, took them to another bank that was happy to get and take as much as I wanted. The first bank kind of changed its mind and 'allows' me to get a couple a week; no charge! I told both that this thing would slow down, and the demand for halves would cease. Looks like it is happening. Maybe by years end, we could get a count of every one's hoard to see how many this forum has collected.

I found a bank about 30 miles out that actually uses and orders halves! I was shocked when I asked the woman for some and she said she had 3 rolls but would only let me get two b/c the use them
