Attention everyone I've been examining my henning just looking for new die markers and have found something I haven't read about at all anywhere and thought I was crazy but after examining all my Looped-R coins I've found another loop on another letter I think.. using my magnifying glass when you look at the O on OF AMERICA the bottom of the O has a looped look close to the rim edge. Any1 with a Looped coin and a good way to take photographs up close try to capture it if you can pretty cool find.. or post if you've read this anywhere else

"Who knows maybe some one has it stored away in their collection as an error and it's actually the remaining coin waiting to be discovered."
Most likely still in the Cooper River near Cherry Hill, NJ since only an estimated 12,000 of the 200,000 were found. Or the Schuykill in PA?

After 12 years of searching and no luck finding the 4th year of the infamous henning nickel I finally bit the bullet and sank some money into the first 1946 I've seen come up for sale..I actually went a little higher than I was planning on doing but since it was the looped R and the signs point to it being a legit contemporary counterfeit I went for it.. for about 8 years I read the posts on here and shadowed everyone's knowledge about it and studied the henning I already had to learn as much as a could.. as it goes they say there was 6 dates with us only knowing the 5 in which they are 39,44,46,47,&53... last on my list of finding is the hardest of all the 1953... never seeing a photo of one or an actual one in person..

That is a nice one @nc85--the looped R is pretty clear as you mentioned. Congrats on the pick-up.

Aaarrggg! I wish I had checked my '46-58 collection of Jeffersons before I dumped them, over 1,000. Cool examples on here.

Fistfulladirt there's actually a 1939 as well.. there's several dies to watch for with and without the looped R but with studies of these posts you can find a lot of the markers and cast bubbles to watch for...this coin is my favorite to collect and I find it crazy a lot of coin collectors don't even know these exist other than the 1944 cause it's in the red coin price guide book and they don't mention any of the other years
