So, the bottom line is he is trying to pass off a Details coin as XF by conveniently losing the PCGS Details label AND making no mention of the coin's problems in the ebay description.

Its repaired and sold for $4320 at Stacks.

The repair is described in his posting: A exceptionally beautiful coin - expecting strong bidding * ( It is a details coin due to obverse light burnishing in some field areas and cheek)

Westernsky, I would have to disagree. He says that it is a details coin.

.
He even states that a Solid XF coin is valued around $21k and that this coin is not worth $7k. It does not sound like he is deceiving anyone here.

"Likely"? How about yes or no?

As a general comment, put no weight into labels when the coin is already cracked out. Even if it is the same coin you don't know what was done to it from the crackout till then.

People can make their own conclusions though in general details coins get removed to be sold raw hoping for a better price.

This is the actual description at the time of this posting
"This coin is %100 genuine got from Frisco sellers that have very fine coppers.
Why am I selling ? Well I'm looking at another fine specimen and ill liquify this one for to put for another coin.
Coin info explained---
Coin is being sold as Raw --- likely will post PCGS tag when found later or so
A exceptionally beautiful coin - expecting strong bidding * ( It is a details coin due to obverse light burnishing in some field areas and cheek)
Coin other than the issue explained is very very high end with beautiful eye appeal. Coin dose not Value more than 7k but very close .
Coin has even deep brown color with No notable pitting or rim dings or any scratches ---
A almost sound perfect choice instead of a Solid XF that would cost 21k
The winner of this Very Rare coin will be very pleased--- thats certain
Any Questions is the responsible approach -- and thank u for your intrest.
Coin will be registered certainly *
Good Luck

On Oct-27-19 at 18:48:31 PDT, seller added the following information:

I added a few pictures of sale and membership --
Just know that a XF wreath like as on this auction is exceptional and expect a healthy strong bids for this with crisp sharp hair detail.
Strong reverse -- basicly no distracting marks either . I love my coppers out of the holder*.
Lable seems to have been lost, but thats fine"

What an amazing board, folks here know the ACTUAL COIN. Impressive.

"Lable seems to have been lost, but thats fine"

Who says that!? The coin does look beautiful, and indeed is real, but gotta hold out for one without this level of weirdness.

Beautiful coin, even repaired, I'd love to have it in my collection. I looked, but couldn't see the repair, where exactly is the repair?

I'm assuming nobody else can spot it either, that's one heck of a patch job, wherever it is?

I don't know what the repair was but there is a difference between "repairing" and "burninshing".

He does not mention the repair, he just mentions the burnishing. The repair could be anything from repairing a hole and re-engraving details or adding metal to fill in gouges. Usually when a hole is repaired, or metal is moved, the coin is then burnished to give it a more uniform appearance.

Who ever repaired and burnished this one did a pretty good job! Would be nice to see a picture of it before it was fixed.

Now that I see this thread, I agree that there was a little, let's say, white lie, in saying there was "light" burnishing, and no mention of the repair. Seller knew darn well it was repaired.

Sellers often crack coins out of details holders and sell them on ebay - a site notorious for low-information buyers.
I'm sure this guy made a profit.

No different than what happens at coins shows and many coins shops

I like to think shows and shops get a better informed clientele than ebay.

If he was the buyer of the Stacks and Bowers coin....no profit. I should add that the seller of that ebay coin is a member here, and has some very nice 1793 cents.

Both have very informed people and uninformed people. The ebay clientele is obviously much larger, but the difference is at the shops/shows we don't have the internet to be able to see what happens.

Don't get me wrong there are some good and honest dealers out there that can be trusted and are a value to their clients.

That said the whole selling fakes/cracking out details coins/hype machines etc are by no means unique to the internet/eBay nor is it unique to the internet/eBay buyers to fall for it.

You can tell it's real when the seller states "This coin is %100 genuine"
