VF details. I think the scratches across the bust line are too severe to warrant a straight grade

I say its VF20. But graded VF25

VF25 - no signs of damage either, mostly I run across holed and repaired examples, this one is spectacular - just a really old honest worn coin.

In hand they do appear to be adjustment marks. The guy who graded this must have been having a bad day  |

I'd have to double check against some of my own, but off the top of my head that cert number looks like it might have been around the time a while back when they were insanely tight.

I would have said VF-20. F-15 is REALLY harsh for that coin. Did you buy it for F-15 money?  Edited by CoinCollector2012

 adjustment marks not damage, damage like that would affect the rim edge and denticles. Undergraded by a couple points IMO. "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R.
