Toning look legit, but I worry it may get detailed for that spot near the date. Either way great cherrypick. If it doesn't detail, I'd say MS-63 is only accurate because they'd net grade it. If the spot wasn't there I'd give it a 65.

I am extremely reluctant to treat expensive coins, but I wonder if paying to have them "conserve" the coin before slabbing would spiffy up those spots at all and have less of a chance of a details grade.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Conserving? Even the best ruin them:

Conserving ruined this one to me.

Stunning example and I like the color as well even though it may not be natural.

I hope yours "passes" with flying colors but I have heard of them getting a details grade after conserving because of a previous cleaning.

The spots on the reverse are carbon spots. But I'd leave it alone. Maybe put it in an air tight holder. Make sure it is totally dry before putting it in though.

I've left it alone and it has been living in my "to be graded" folder. Just haven't sent anything in for quite a while now to try and build up enough to lower the per/coin cost what with shipping and insurance. Was going to try and get a submission together this weekend but not sure if there is time. I'm leaving for my first deployment of the summer either Sunday, Monday or Tuesday depending on when they get all the ducks in line.
