Incredible find! This is a very difficult variety, especially in your die state. Well done!

Nice. I didn't know about that one. Going thru a box of about 3000 Wheaties and will keep an eye out for that one.

Just got this one back from PCGS and it went....XF40! Pleased with that grade.
Oh yeah, it made it as a minor plate coin on coinfacts as well.

Quote: My thoughts are to send it to PCGS as-is (I haven't touched anything on it) under their conservation program and let them clean the dust off it and see if they end up spiffy-ing it up a bit. Did you go with their conservation program? Congratulations on the minor plate! smat

Thanks! This was a great bunch I got back as 8 of them are now the featured plate coin and four are minor plate coins for coinfacts.
In the end I didn't go with restoration. I just lightly rinsed off a bit of the surface dirt and sent it in. I think I pulled this one out of an old Whitman blue album, and usually those coins are just fairly lightly settled dirt that comes off without trashing the coin.

Congrats on this one! I've been searching for this particular Doubled Die for quite some time, and have come up empty every time. This really is a rare one!
