Texas:
I have heard that the vinegar could take weeks.
Good luck.

I wouldn't use vinegar. Use something else like Nic-A-Date or muriatic acid (HCl)

I am not a expert on coin cleaning - having never done any, but
Ya think you should be using hydrochloric acid on a coin?
I am not even sure you should use acetic?

wwhitman, they are dateless coins, the only way to get the date to show up is using acid.

I just read some things about 5%acedic acid, it works well on dateless buffaloes.I seem to remember to check the coin or if you choose to more than one , check them when in acid and do not let them sit in there for longer than needed, in other words do not over due the bath. I know that if you can not see a date, you have nothing to lose( especially at those prices). Good luck, MORGANS DAD...

zoombuff, I can't magnify that image. It looks great. Did you treat the entire coin, or just the date area?

Wheatie - It was given to me as a free sample by a guy who sells them on ebay. He restores the whole coin.

No visible results yet from the vinegar.

Does anyone know how much a dateless high ground reverse buffalo is worth?
I'm wondering if I should buy more of them from my coin shop for 35 cents each.

One of them is officially a 1916. Another is either a 1915 D or a 1916 D, I think it's 1916. Nothing yet from the rest of them.
The vinegar did, however, make the surface of the coins a little rough and gave them a flat color.
Rest in Peace

How about giving the general public a cheap thrill and releasing them in circulation? I have done that many times. Most of the times restored date Buff's do not look to hot, grainy at best. Mike
