I've had a subscription for these ever since they announced free shipping for subscriptions, and I've already received my confirmation email so should be good.
Maybe it's just me but it seems unusual for them to release a product on a Friday.

I don't know if we've ever been in this situation before, but do enrollments always go ahead of orders?

Quote: do enrollments always go ahead of orders? I don't know if there's anything "official" for that, but it would seem like they would. Enrollments start processing before online ordering opens to the public.

Quote: Maybe they are hoping to stave off the rush knowing the limited availability? The date was set long before the quarantining started. My plan was to get mine at coin show in Dalton, GA. Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled. :(

Quote: The date was set long before the quarantining started. You are right. I thought it was moved up when all the other things went TBD, but I looked back at the e-mails and it was always 4/17. With that, no idea why they set on a Friday.

I'm guessing because it was literally going to be the first day of the Dalton coin show. The regular proof set went on sale on the first day of the ANA Money show in Atlanta which happened to be on a Thursday.

they limited the silver proof set because of the silver and not wanting to make a million sets and have them maybe sit on the shelf with the economy currently recessing.
They absolutely will make more once they sell these, it's just a method of them not sitting on a bunch of silver inventory that people may not buy. the "190K" gets them the speculator sales and the less scrupulous tv sales and gimmick sales places a bit of verbiage to market with and sucker people into buying them marked up on the secondary market.
I mean they are running circulation coins, it's not like the mint doesn't have tight security, and the same people, so the risk is lower than a place that's open to the public,,,, and they ONLY did it with the silver set. not the other products. I think it's a combination of factors but I think it's they think the silver will become a bit more volatile, and they aren't sure what the demand will be for the set given the current economic conditions for a lot of people. they are generating their own buzz for the set and will very likely just produce a bunch more once the initial 190K sells out. I mean it's San Francisco, what else they got to do over there at that mint? LOL certainly they all don't want to be furloughed.
