Ok... PSD ...
The fact it is on a slightly light planchet (3.04g) and has tapering influenced by the strike (tapering is diagonal opposite of error area "N" - slight MAD) leads me to believe the error was included in the strike...

thoughts?

I agree with Klocckwork419. That with it being raised, not incuse, it appears to be some type of die damage/dent.

Hey all...

I need a bit of help of best way to contact/email Mike D, to see what he thinks.
I have never sent off a coin for attribution or to be looked at... (very new to that)...
or if someone might alert him to this post to see if he is interested?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

THANKS!!

Hey John1 I tried to send am email there yesterday, but I got a reply that he doesn't get messages... ?
And was trying to figure out which website might have the best "contact us" for this type coin...? I dunno... Sorry I am a bit lost on what to do to make that happen...?

I really would like to see what he thinks... and not because I don't appreciate all the great and knowledgeable people here ;) Just that I can't myself wrap my head around it and have had varied opinions on this coin.

Much Appreciated!

So Mike D replied:

Quote:
As best I can tell, the blemish that lies next to the N is die damage.
The object that dented the face also dented the die's rim gutter. As a result, the damage affects both the rim and the field.

Still a keeper for me none-the-less

It is my N-igma.
