Yeah, I noticed that a sane buyer wouldn't deal with this guy anyway... He has terrible feedback. His percentage just masks it because of volume.

After viewing the listing and reading the sellers feedback, the seller is just playing a bait and switch game. Some buyers call the seller on it and most don't.
I would neg the seller without hesitation. It is obvious that you like the coin or you would not have bid on it. But that isn't a reason not to neg the seller.

a1, You are absolutely right. As someone who sells on ebay I know that negatives can affect future sales. That's why I don't have any negatives, and that's the exact reason why I think ethical ebay coin sellers would agree that your situation basically requires negative feedback--IF the seller does not offer to send you the packaging pictured in the listing at no cost to you. If I ever sent someone less than my picture led them to expect and didn't work to make it right, then I would expect the buyer to exercise his rights under the system. I myself would not hesitate to slap that seller with a negative. Even if the coin itself satisfied my own collecting requirements (hey I was going to take it out of the package, anyway), that's not the point of negative feedback. I'm sorry that you don't feel that a negative feedback is warranted here, but it does make me wonder when you think one might be. I've never heard of anyone checking to see whether a seller has received feedback from a certain percentage of his buyers. People can only use tools that exist on the website and as far as I know there's no way to analyze non-existent feedback. But you're the one who has to be happy here, so if you're not comfortable leaving negative feedback, I completely understand. I disagree, but I do understand.

I did leave a neg feedback once. I got 2 Morgans for a great price. Instead of sending them, He sent back HALF the money saying he did send them and I just wanted something for nothing. Three days later he reposted the exact same two coins...What a loser.
Your probably right HABIB. After seeing all those negative feedbacks, its obvious the guy is a fraud. I should be happy I got anything at all.

That's true--I mean at least you:
1. Got a coin you are happy with 2. Are able to put an SGS 'slab' in the trash
I hope I wasn't coming across as being harsh to you--it's more the situation that is frustrating because there really ought to be a better way to call sellers on their behavior.

Don't let them get away with it!
The SGA dollars are woth 100X more than an SGS, anyday. [well, maybe not 100x, but a heck of a lot more!]

I think the sad part is that because the seller has so many sales he/she feels that they can take stock photos from the net and say that is what you are getting to get. The fact that there are so many negative feed backs over the last year is a big flag as well and that you should feel lucky to have what they sent and that you were not like the others that complained.

If you read the seller's FB, you'll notice he doesn't respond to folks that are hopping mad and expect a response ASAP. The message you sent about being happy, not giving FB, and sorta kinda asking for a response, has no chance of getting an answer.

I got a response. He said he would be willing to do a refund. He didn't say but I'm sure I would've had to pay for the postage. A $100.00 coin for $56.00 makes it hard to give back. He would have just posted it again in the hopes of getting more out of someone else.
I've already cracked it open so that's out. Maybe I should scratch a big "X" on it and send it back...JUST KIDDING!. Some of ya probably cringed right there.
*%# that guy. I hope he lost money on it.

Are they worth that much nowadays?
I have one that I put in a shadow box frame with the govt box mounted below it. I ordered it from the mint, then mounted it for my Dad as a gift.
I don't think it would scan or photo well, but it is a really nice looking setup this way.

Wow, and you got an MS70! I don't want to hijack your thread, so I will post a pic of Dad's coin, mounted in a box, in the commem forum. I got a decent pic...
