To veteran collectors this note has an interesting serial number, but it's a spender. Notes like this however do sell on ebay for a premium. Bididiots tend to buy almost anything, especially when marketing savvy sellers hype up the description.

There is definitely the potential to sell it for a small premium to the right guy.

In China the number "88" symbolizes fortune and good luck. You could pitch the banknote on ebay with a catchy title like: "Rare, Unique Banknote with 88688687 Serial Number. Luck and Fortunate Awaits You!!".

A photo of THE FULL NOTE helps a lot in determining it's value. I agree with the others that it's interesting only.

CASH - I'll get one up for folks to see. Not too bad BUT alas has been folded a few times.

Scanner wouldn't scan it, so here's a quick photo... note the center folds and tiny ink spot

Modern day scanners will not scan US currency or coins as a matter of fact, my office copiers specifically has a big icon with a "X" going through US bills and coin, copying or scanning it will turn off and lock the copier, and will have to explain to the proper authority what you're doing before having the copier unlock and working again.

If it was a crisp flat uncirculated (CFU) ONE DOLLAR Note, with that sort of serial number, it would be a little more tempting to keep, but $20 is just too much to loose to the ravages of inflation.
Spend it.

El Spendola. Spenderiffic. Notgoodenougharama. THOUGH it is still very tempting to list it just to see what happens. Sort of an experimental listing. What if I IRON IT OUT first?

Just for kicks, I DID iron it out (it helped!) and I did list it for sale... got some hits but no bids. Into the economy it goes!

Ironing notes is similar to cleaning coins...frowned upon in the community.

Well, at least I didn't leave the iron on it too long ;-) Good to know, though!
