Yes this happens every single time with the old plastic tubes without threads on the cap . Ones that are just placed over the tubes . To be honest I never tried the heat method but sounds like a good way to loosen up the tube so the coins come out without damage.

Just do that slowly. You don't want to get the coins hot too.

Yes, that other thread was from me. I wound up using a saw which cut a groove into the pennies and the ones stuck in the cap I used a hammer and beat them out. The plastic was glued to every penny so I didn't have a choice. Lots of post mint damage.
