Yes this happens every single time with the old plastic tubes without threads on the cap . Ones that are just placed over the tubes . To be honest I never tried the heat method but sounds like a good way to loosen up the tube so the coins come out without damage.  |

Just do that slowly. You don't want to get the coins hot too.

Yes, that other thread was from me. I wound up using a saw which cut a groove into the pennies and the ones stuck in the cap I used a hammer and beat them out. The plastic was glued to every penny so I didn't have a choice. Lots of post mint damage.
