A nice pick-up to be sure, but your close-up pics through the slab are really well done.

Thank you Spence! I struggle not to capture the slab imperfections in the photos but I'm glad they came through okay!

I saw that one and it was so low-priced I almost tossed a bid at it, but it's not an upgrade for me so figured I'd pass and let someone else get the deal. Happy it was a member of the CCF, and congrats on a great coin at a great price!
This is quite the early die state, and I agree that it is possible there is hub doubling showing inside the 9. Can't be sure, but it does look that way and certainly could show up there on an early die state coin. Good eye to see that bit.

Very nice crisp doubling, and in a nice slab too. Amazing pictures by the way. Quite the pickup, congrats on an awesome coin.

Thank you Bats! The sellers pics weren't great but I could see the doubling quite strongly even with the blurry pics so I knew it was going to be a nice coin. It is an upgrade from the one I found a wheat bag and that one Certainly isn't the prettiest. I remember the MS example you found In a roll a little while back and I was wondering if you ever got that one in a Slab? That one is quite the looker.

Thank you QuarterHoarder!
Tippy I use a cheap clip on macro lens on my phone and a ottlite lamp. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

Nope, haven't slabbed that one (yet). Just figured it would struggle in at maybe MS-62 so hasn't been at the top of the list to get slabbed.

Understandable considering some of the varieties you've accumulated after that one.Thank you again!

Congratulations on a grreat buy. That is a sweet one and slabbed no less. $14.99 doesn't even cover the slabbing fees and postage today let alone on an ANACS "soap" slab from years ago.
Over the years I've found some great deals are to be had on attributed varieties. It seems we variety collectors are so focused on finding unattributed Cherry Picks we look past the attributed ones because it's "bound to get expensive".

Petespockets, thank you and I agree with what you said. I'm always so focused on finding unattributed varieties for the collection I forget to check the attributed ones and most of the time Just assume the prices will get too high. But there are some great deals out there and I think it is worth it to take a shot at winning those bids. Sometimes ebay can surprise you! I also must admit that the "soap" slab was an extra incentive for me . I like the older slabs and still want to cherry a variety in an old PCGS slab. -CH27

Nice find CH. What are you going to do with the one you found in the wheat bag now that you have the upgrade?

Thanks Sheldius! I'll probably hang onto the one I have until I can sell it. I know a couple dealers who may be interested but who knows how long it will be until I can get to a show.

I'm not sure when I'd feel safe at a coin show.
Still I am down to only needing a 1909 S VDB, 1914 D, and 1931 S for my daughters wheat collection. So I guess need to go sometime. Not sure I have enough good varieties to cover that, but maybe if I unload a V75 silver eagle I might be able to get a few closer.

Silver has been up quite a bit since it's $15/Ounce norm before COVID. I never saw it rise above $17 before COVID happened and then it hit around $29 a few months back. If you have some spare silver then it may be more valuable sometime soon. I would recommend watching ebay auctions for some of those dates you need. Every once in a while they go for less than retail especially if it is a problem coin. I'm not sure how you want your collection to be but I would try to find a cheap problem example of the coin to fill the hole until I have enough money to upgrade. At least it would be considered "complete". -CH27
