I started hunting through rolls in the 1960's while still a youngster. My Dad, God bless him, would many times bring me home rolls to look through and then take them back and exchange them for others. He always supported the interests my brother and I had.

I stopped roll hunting in the early 1970's. Life had more urgent callings for the next few decades.

In 2009 after the kids were grown and gone, I started looking through rolls again, especially nickels. On January 29, 2009 I started a nickel set made of only roll finds. After 2 years I had found all but 3. It was a fun exercise. I wish I had kept track of how many rolls I looked through. Here are photos of book 1 of the set. I also found all of the later ones, as well as quite a few Buffalo nickels.

The flatness on the lower horizontal proves it is a 43/42:

I think it should be sent off to ANACS.

I agree.

I have never sent any coins to a TPG. Would this coin be worth it when you consider mailing costs and fees? Is ANACS less expensive than other TPG's?

I have one with a lamination peel of the entire obverse, but it still shows everything underneath. I sent it to PCGS. They confirmed it was a 43/2 with a lamination peel.

I am confused. Besides, why would they not holder a major error even if it has a LAM?

They worry the lam if not removed may flake off and damage the coin while in holder

You mean their none air tight holder, where the slabbed coin can "change" over the years. That's why they only guaranty their service for a limited set of time
