Hey, that all looks like good news to me.

So all John needs to do is contact the National Library of Australia & prove that he now holds the copyright, and it should be smooth sailing from there on.

Richard, We must have both been replying at the same time but you beat me to it. I'll try & contact John & see if he's had time to get anything organised yet.

We don't need to be in Oz to request chapters. If there's a need, I am sure we could all pitch in, get 1 chapter each, and put 'em together

That is what Nancy & I are discussing
She is going to try and coordinate it in Oz because there the local libraries can request a copy and it can be copied locally.

GREAT NEWS! Our marvelous member, xshift has located an original copy of this book and has scanned it and is prepared to burn it to CD for anyone that wants a copy. It will also be available in PDF if you prefer.

I'm prepared to have all CD versions for Aussie residents sent to me and I'll on forward them at my expense. This should keep Renee's cost for shipping to Australia to a minimum.

I've sent her a contribution towards her original cost of the book which was USD$140.00, plus shipping from Australia to the US. These books originally sold for AU$40.00 when they were published back in 2000. I believe there was just one print run of either 100 or 200 copies, so they're pretty scarce.

If you'd like a copy, please indicate your preferred version and either:

1 - Post your order here
2 - PM me
3 - PM xshift

Do NOT advise your postal details here!

Either send them to xshift, or to me via PM.

A contribution to xshift towards her costs would certainly be appreciated, but is not conditional on your eligibility to participate in this offer. Renee has very generously offered the original version of the Book as a gift to the Author's son, John Byrnes.

If you'd like to know what the book contains, a Book review from April 2000, by Ian McConnolly can be read here:

Better yet, start one. A great way to cement your place here is to open and contribute to a topic that interests you. Also lets the rest of us get to know you better, which is the whole point behind the 50 posts. What is your favourite area of collecting, what are your goals, what is your favourite coin, what do you want to know that seems like a dumb question. That kind of thing. Post a picture of a coin you want to discuss, or have graded. 50 posts comes quickly if you take the lead.

However, just remember that no brainer replies like 'cool coin', 'wow', etc don't count to your post count.

Oh, and replying to me to tell me to mind my own business probably counts as a post.

I have been posting here (16 posts in 2 days I think it is). I think I have found a 1966 wavy 2 20c (australian of course) and have created a thread with a picture of it.
