I was bidding on this one. Was at work when it ended. The spot on the cheek and jawline was bothering me. Hard to see in your pictures. Nice coin

Dang batts. Awesome coin. I hope you didn't have too much competition. I've got a decent one coming in today myself. It's been lost in the mail for a while.
Did you get your 38 in hand yet?

Thanks folks. Was quite happy to win this one, and figured Klocc was involved as it did go a little higher than expected. Will, I hear you. This one was stuck in Oregon for something like 10 days before the seller started working on the post office there to find out what was going on. He spent some considerable time, even calling them and spending lots of time on hold to get someone on the phone who could do something, and I really appreciated that. It worked and the coin arrived yesterday. Yes the 1938-D arrived and it's really quite nice. You had posted the link to those coins, and the DDO and DDR were both quite visible in the seller photos so I didn't post mine when it arrived. That was a great find and really appreciate you sharing on that one as it really seals that DDO-001 in my collection. Big thanks!

Well, as note, PCGS doesn't like woodies and I think it shows here. This coin has fewer marks on it than most MS65 coins I see, but pulled a mere MS62. Kinda sad that such a nearly mark-free coin can't score better. Anyway, it was good enough for POP 1/4 and a CoinFacts plate coin.

Shame it went pretty low MS, but it's still a beautiful coin regardless.

Very nice pick. Glad to see the results. Do you think the green in the lower right seeds affected their grade? (I was a little concerned about it.)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Thanks folks! As for the green, I would think that, maybe, plus the couple minor surface blems at the very most would drop it to 63. I've just seen so many MS64 coins that look far worse than this one. I know they don't like woodies and all, but still, a 62? But I'll leave it where it is and maybe someday round up all the things I think are under graded and give 'em a re-submit. I'm not really into the idea of continuing to submit until you get the grade you want, but sometimes it just would seem to make sense.

A very attractive example and I'll jump on board the undergrade train.
