I didn't see that one but I am no expert on these Trade dollars but I also think something looks a little off to me as well but can't seem to match it up with anything I have pictures of

T$1 What is that? Its fake alright. This is just another reason why I avoid ebay. I know there are some good sellers on ebay but I would rather just buy from places that I trust more.

Is there anyway the guy that bought the coin can be informed that its fake?

T$1 just stands for Trade dollar, I think all the TPG's use that same abreviation on their slabs. Since ebay started hiding peoples user names with the *'s it is impossible to warn them that they just bought a fake coin in a fake slab

The bidder of the auction placed a negative. Maybe he knew or he saw this thread?

very interesting that person only has 1 feedback and it was from a popular member on one of the biggest coin forums on the net. Maybe its one of his alter ego's or just another collector, but chances seem pretty good that either they knew when they bid or they found out before they paid. I just looked at his auctions all in NGC slabs and something doesn't look right about them either (even though the font looks right and I can't find the numbers on Heritage) maybe its just me knowing he had that one coin that was fake and in my mind it makes these guilty by association. According to heritage one of these in this grade sold for $5000.00+ and he is starting it at $199.00? just smells fishy to me

These crooks have stolen something from all of us. Acquiring a beautiful rare coin that you have wanted for years should be a time of joy and achievement. Now, those feelings have been replaced with fear and apprehension. So sad!

I'm not sure why my link doesn't work, but you can click on my name , then click on 1877-S Trade.

Think about this , Con people ( sellers ) pray on greed and greedy people
( buyers ) get taken. Is the risk (greed) greater then the reward ?

DONT BUY FROM CHINA..Plain and simple. I'm sure he got his money and then 2nd chanced it to get another paypent and so on..Thats what they do. By the time you see that your not getting the coin and you report them. They up and took your money and left an EMPTY account. So the paypal so called"BUY PROTECTION" is a real scam also!. ALWAYS. atleast if it looks fishy or a payment is over what you cant afford to LOSE!!. Pay with paypal so the money is on hold til you get the item!!. ONLY protection that is REAL from paypal!!

and dont buy from china! Look at ALL the feedbacks closely!! If you feel a little fishy about it,DONT BUY!!
China=Counterfeit..I dont care if he sold 15000 and 100% feedback. Ill never buy overseas!!

Reported to www.ebay.com/ccw with a link here explaining all the proof and they pulled it. Just hope it was in time.

A few (or more) rotten apples spoiling it for the rest of us. I've been buying on ebay for about 10 years. Now I'm apprehensive (scared) about doing it any more. Yuk !
