Congrats on the super find! Since you have so many coins to sort through what's your method? Magnifier type? Stereo Microscope? I'd probably use a hands free lighted magnifier if it was me at least to start. Have a card table set up where they could stay, and some sheets of paper labeled or boxes to put them in as I sort through them.

43 pounds works out to approx. 6235 coins (based on 145 copper cents to the pound). More than a full bag of 5000.
Largest bag I ever bought was only around 7 or 8 pounds, but it was still fun going through them, I was a lot younger with much better eye sight then.

Very cool! A strong doubled die no doubt! This one may actually be in the Red Book. Your coin looks high VF. Congrats!

Wexler's Die Varieties is a web site. Is that what you mean? It is a reference for the coin I posted and many others.

And I am not really a new member. I just haven't posted in a couple years.

Very nice, one of my favorite coins as my Mamaw was born in 1936, so I grab these whenever I can. I even have one in the wheatie hole in my 7070.

Thank you. I just sent it into ANACS for verification and grading. They are having a $10. special so I sent in a few things. I want to have something to compare something too.

What does this mean? "I even have one in the wheatie hole in my 7070." I do the same thing for year 1940.

Thanks,
Deborah
