I have the plastic rollers that you fill to the line, and then slide the paper onto the roll inside the tube.

I look though one roll take out the ones I want to keep or look closer at and replace them with new junk cents. No need to count. Roll em take back to the bank

to CCF. Long ago my bank would give me the flat wrappers for free, but they would never give me enough. At some point I got tired of that and started buying boxes of them from ebay or Amazon. When I looked through rolls of cents I would go through 5 or 10 rolls at a time, pick out the keepers and replace them with ones I already found to be spenders and wrap them up to be returned.

It seems buying coins in bulk from ebay would get very expensive compared to a bank. Thanks for all the ideas, will go over them again and try some of them.

Not buying coins, buying boxes of wrappers.

Just go to Coinstar, dump them in by the box and get the 0% gift card option.

It was what I used to do. Would get a gift card for the store I was in since I was already there to buy stuff.

Yes that sounds great actually, when you get the gift card say in a Walmart is that good to spend in the same store? More important do they charge you for the counting or is it free then?

You could roll them and spend on gas, snacks or whatever. I could spend 20 to 30 rolls daily, at least. They're always happy to get the change.

The gift card I got was only good in the store that housed the machine, so I had to use it there. Yes, the counting was free.

I agree that the cost of re-wrapping could get to a point of being expensive and time consuming on its own versus intangible fun and other rewards.

That's a great suggestion about Walmart. I will have to check to see if any around me have coin counting machines.

Stay well,

Hello, I got two boxes of pennies from the bank to look through and both were all new pennies so did not bother opening the rolls, how do I get circulated rolls and skip the new penny rolls?

If you're dealing with the bank, you will have to accept what they offer. Keep in mind, they aren't a coin shop where one can pick and chose...you must accept what the bank offers as they have delivered as promised.

Also make sure you don't return those pennies to the same bank you bought them from, especially if you haven't opened the rolls. They won't be too keen on that.
