Finally received mine today. 1 uncirculated and 1 proof.
I checked out the mint web site today and the Uncirculated is sold out and the Proof is now on a waiting list.
I decided to order one on the waiting list, I regret not ordering another proof yesterday when it wasn't on the waiting list.

The total mintage of the Uncirculated is so low, or about half of the Proof Dollar... Does that make the uncirculated more attractive or doesn't that matter for commeratives?

Uncirculated commems do tend to have lower mintages than the proofs, most people prefer to purchase the proofs. This mintage differential does not always impact the value though.

My proof Lincoln dollar finally made it from the US Mint to my folks in the US and over to me in the UK.
Really impressed with it.

seems like the uncirculated coin is catching the same premium as the proof on the bay

I've had 5 proofs from the mint and NGC slabbed them: Three PF70UC, One PF69UC, and one arrived scratched so I didn't send it in. Not too bad, but disappointed in the scratched coin straight from them. Still have the 5 UNC on it's way expected ship date May 5.
I have to buy at least 5 at a time to make the shipping worth it per coin- they charge $14.95 + $2.95 PER COIN, so 5 coins ends up tallying nearly $30. That's $6/coin.
3 PF and 3 UNC Brailles on the way at some point too, but who knows when.

I am of the opinion that the UNC, being of lower mintage"could and should" bring a premium over the more available Proofs. I would just apply the general rule of supply and demand, this all relying on the demand being there, while the reports about E-Bay would back this up, just my opinion....

morgans dad; Maybe not so much. 1988 D Seoul 1994 D world cup 1994 U.S. Prisoner of War 1995,96 Olympic series 1997's and lately with the '08 Bald Eagle the values for those BU were higher than PF, except in some cases MS/PF70
Generally speaking with the modern commems, the Proofs have the price advantage over the BU's.

Road Apples, You are correct in that these years, and more, have the $$$$$ advantage over the UNC'S, however this year IMHO, Will bring a "wait and see" how things all lay out when the dust settles. I do collect Comm's and enjoy them very much, I also believe that the market is usually more interested in the proof's on most issues, that said, I will await the results and see like everyone else, just my opinion.....AHHH that 08-Bald Eagle......

And to be sure, the 08 Bald Eagle $1 has higher value on collectors-society set listing points, but both PCGS and NGC have the proof valued higher at this point in time.

And so, I await word from the mint confirming I have for sure procured 5 UNC Lincolns, but nothing...
So I jumped onto the bay and grabbed an unopened 5 pack as insurance. These I'll keep. The ones I may get from the mint I'll slab.
