Seems like the cent has pretty good details on it - may consider getting it conserved.

Wonderful find, congratulations! How about posting some of your other finds, like that Fugio cent?

I'd be more than happy to, should it be in a new topic? Or just here for sharing ?

Don't put that metal detector away yet, I'm on my way over! In all seriousness, WOWZA!! That's incredible! What a fantastic find! I agree, we'd love to see more pictures of other finds, but as Jimmy says, one per thread. I certainly don't mind seeing several topics of this nature, even if they are all from one person!

with Germanicvs most likely a Sheldon S-76 a or b. As to value? I think you are on the money, if it's not too porous from being buried. A lightly corrosion VG8 would go for at least $1200.00 see Chris McCawleys current VG8 Details example: https://www.earlycents.com/?product...cent-coin-1cTom Deck has one closer to your example listed for $350.00 https://largecents.net/salecoin.php?LK103Obviously a super clean example from Tom, that one wasn't out of the ground! I'd love to see how your coin "cleans up" in conservation efforts. Looking forward to seeing some of your other finds, especially the Fugio.

im considering getting it graded, I know a lot of people are against it because its a waste of money but in my mind, I think it's worth it. I've never done it and id love to see something I found be professionally graded and I'm willing to spend a little to learn and see the process.
with that being said - assuming it's not too much $$$$ who would you go through and do they typically offer cleaning services too? Like many people, I've killed coins before trying to get details out. I've done little to nothing to this one and might keep it that way haha thoughts?
ill post some other finds today! thanks all

Honestly I too would consider slabbing this. It's a nice coin with a good amount of detail left and a rare coin for sure. Especially if you're going to keep it for yourself It might be neat to have it in TPG plastic. The one thing I'm concerned for is whether they might deem it "unworthy of slabbing" for the corrosion and send it back in a body bag. Graded or not, it's a very neat and special find! I hope to find something this nice someday. -CH27
