You guys pretty much nailed it! It got 64.
PQ for a 64 IMO, minus the strike weakness theres not a lot going against it.

It has a strong argument for MS65 at today's standards.

I think this is an MS65 in today's world, though the grade is visible in the first photo of the slab, so we all know what PCGS thought originally. Worthy of a crack out and resub IMO.

You would get a higher grade.

I agree with you guys, I purchased this without seeing it at a wholesale price with the intent to resell, but right now its staying with me, likely to keep. At the very least it will go to CAC.
West, the pic only shows the bottom half of the slab numbers to me, where are you seeing the grade?

The grade is after the PCGS ID number on PCGS coins. Reading left to right (normal) the first set of numbers is (#7166) PCGS Coin ID for a Morgan dollar, next after the period, is the actual grade assigned. (I can make out the 64) then a forward slash mark, then the unique PCGS serial number designated to this specific coin and slab. I made a quick diagram to illustrate this.
