Same here. I wonder if it's just a result of lighting. Otherwise it looks like the Gen 1 type 11 slab.

And it is a very nice example for the grade. Congrats!

the 99(O) was one of the better struck years at the mint. there is a little weakness around the ear and breast but everything else looks good. I dont care for toned coins as you are never sure how they will age. this one has nice peripheral toning that does not detract from the coin. the reverse looks MS64. obverse marks, scratches and scuffs across the cheek and neck will pull the grade down to a MS63 which is the correct grade on the slab. you got a good price on this one.

Thank you all. Photos with Canon 80D and 50mm lens. I found a portable light that I can use to help light the coins.

I would love to see a picture of your photog set-up.

I'm assuming the 50mm lens is a Canon? f/1.4, f1.8 lens?
