At the end of the day, would you be happy owning this coin for $90? Or regret it later?
Personally, I still wouldn't consider this one at $90. That corrosion is just to extreme for me. I couldn't overlook it.
But that's just me.

I agree with Ty2020b on this one. The corrosion is extreme and, personally, it would bother me every time I looked at it. I think I'd even prefer a holed coin over this much corrosion.
What's the rush to fill these key date holes? Maybe just an old dude perspective, but sometime in the next 10 years we'll probably move back to a buyers market again, and you'll probably have more income, and you can pick something that you'll be happy with long-term for a reasonable amount.
And I apologize if that sounds condescending. I really don't mean it that way. Obviously, collect whatever you like.

It's an 1811 Cohen-2 (C-2 variety) and one of the keys to the US Classic Head Half Cent set. Rarity R-3. In that condition I can't put a price on it. That's up to you. |

It was a high grade coin when it got buried. Now with the heavy corrosion I would probably net grade it as a Fair-2 to AG-3 Probably a $30 to $50 coin.

It's just a cull and only worth what someone would be willing to pay for it.

IMHO, this cull is a $30-$50, tops, hole-filler. Of course, there's always a fish out there who'll bite for more!

Well it's been at my local coin shop for a while he was supposed to send it in for grading a while back but I guess he forgot about it so we decided on $90 for it I might have overpaid but he gives me good deals on other items so no problem.

The EAC crowd has a term for a coin that looks like this: "Scudzy" it's a perfect example of a scudzy coin, one that is desirable in one hand due to the rarity and variety, yet undesirable on the other hand due to the horrible appearance and condition.
Grade? Going by EAC standards "VF+ NET FR02 or AG03 extreme corrosion."

With respect to the OP, I agree with silverwolf. I am glad you like it - I would not have given it a second look at a fifth of that price.

Well I need to do a lot more research of coins like this when they are this far gone, that's my fault on my part, I guess I thought it was really rare which it's kind of rare, but the condition really hurts it, I won't touch no more in this bad of shape. It will stay in my collection for a good while.
