Half Dollars: When Was The Last Time You Found One In Circulation?

Late '90s for me.

I run a pond supply store and we give them out in change regularly, probably about a roll a week. 99.9% of the customers getting them love them. We also give out two dollar bills, probably about $50 worth a week and people love them even more. I hear from other businesses that say "I don't want those, customers hate them / complain about getting them" and I'm thinking "Bull, you've never tried it or you would find they actually love them"
We would give out more, but most sales are card now instead of cash, even though we offer the equivalent of a 2% rebate for cash sales.

On my various trips to the USA, I've never had one in change, although I've often got rolls from banks and spent them!

However when staying in Panama in 1985 I received several JFK halves in change!

There may still be some U.S. casinos w/ 50 cent slot machines, but it has been probably been a decade since I've been in one (in Kansas City on the Missouri River, I believe.)

Bank-wrapped rolls are pretty easy to score, if you hunt around. But seeing them in change? Almost never.

I actually found a 90% 1964 half and a 90% quarter in the coin return
at a coinstar machine last week!! The half is AU/BU.

I haven't seen one in change for over 50 years now.
