Here are the PUP (pick up points) along with the leg missing, but the hoof still there.

Send it in to NGC. If its legit, it should probably be in a holder. I hate to tell you it wont come back in an NGC holder, it'll come back in a "bag"

So I noticed the fake 1937-D 3-legger in the OP or a copy with the same under the chin tool marks/damage sold for $660 a couple days ago on ebay. I am a new member so it says I should refrain from posting external links for a bit but could include link if appropriate or pictures from the listing.

The ebay Item number is: 393786034564

Curious if people think the under the chin circular tooling/damage indicates same fake 3-legger as OP or if they are mass produced with this pattern.

The photos and lighting in the ebay post are not very good so hard to see if any scratches match up but there is a matching dig/chip near rim by the nose and a mark on the field by the lips that also seems to match between the two.

That is a counterfeit 3 leg that was just sold on ebay.
You can buy them from China for about $1.00 each

That coin is 150% not legitimate for reasons as stated above. It's an easy spot.

The coin is altered. Take our word for it. It's a cleaned circulated tooled mess that screams "RUN FORREST RUN".

I don't know who deserves more derision, the dupe who shelled out $660 for the obvious Chinese fake in this listing, or ebay for allowing the listing to proceed despite at least one warning that it was fraudulent.

Wow, I learned a lot reading all that! Bummer it's a fake, though...
