It looks like there might be a small gouge on the cheek. That is of course a prime focal area. It still looks cleaner than a straight MS so I'll say MS62RB. It also looks like the rims took a few small hits and as is typical the reverse in nicer than the obverse. With the right grader it might squeese a 63!!!Mike.....note...it may go straight Red its hard to say from the photo.

Speedy,

I think it will go a MS-64 if it turns out not to have been cleaned. It may be the photo but the coins has a dipped looked. Nice piece.

I have found that it is difficult to capture luster and detail accurately in an image. I think the "dipped look" comes from a flatness in the luster that is probably not on the actual coin, but I guess we'll find out soon enough when Speedy gets it back from ANACS.

I'm feeling better about my nascient grading skills seeing that the pros here think this is better than MS 61- that is my naive thought as well.
what is anacs turnaround time running these days?
Speedy, why did you submit it to anacs rather than another TPG?

Sorry guys--they agree with Catman...UNC Details NET AU50--CLEANED....It has helped me though...I didn't know how to tell if a coin had been dipped...I've been reading up and this has also helped.

All in all...I might have lost a few dollars but what I learned was worth it!!!!

Don--sorry I didn't see your questions when I was posting...

ANACS is cheaper and I don't see anything worng with them...I have never seen a coin that I thought was over graded in a ANACS holder (I'm sure there are some out there) they will also grade coins that have problems...with a net grade.

ANACS took about 4 months...right under that and I also called about 5-6 times asking about the time...the girls and guys that take the phone calls are nice about everything and try to help in any way they can...I will use them again for sure...

I like NGC and PCGS...dont' get me wrong...but when you pay $10 for a coin that is only worth $25...and then you send it to NCG or PCGS and pay $20+ for grading you cut out any proffit you mgith ahve gotten...ANACS only costs about $10-$12 if you do the slow grading...if you can pay for it I would go the faster grading and get your coins back sooner!!!

Hey Folks,
ANAC's gets their $15.00 submission coins back in 5 business days! Economy used to be about 4 or 5 weks. They are in a transition now as ownership changed and I have not submitted for a few months. I love ANAC's for the same reasons Speedy does. I think they are tough on grades. I feel very comfortable seeking an upgrade with other TPG's if they get by ANAC's with just a net grade. It saves money in that you don't get a body bag because of light cleaning or a small scratch. Yes, I know they don't bring the PCGS AND NGC money, but they are well respected for the most part. Mike
