Just as we all suspected, sketchy as hell!

gotta agree with everyone in the fact it is not the same coin.
as jacrispies noted the MM is not in the correct location and the 2 in the date is not correct. I call counterfeit. this deception was on purpose by the seller.

After I emailed the seller my questions about the differences in the listing coin and the photos he had sent, he did not reply to my questions but asked ebay to cancel the transaction which ebay just informed me about. Looks like his hustle flopped. Thanks to everyone for your kind help.

Glad you got out of that unscathed. I'll bet he was hoping for an unwitting buyer.

NS Glad you vetted this out and it was caught BEFORE your money got tied up. Although much better than it used to be, ebay and online shopping in general, can still be a Wild West show! A Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

Glad you got out of that one NS. We need to keep an eye on this seller to see if he puts it up for auction again.

This listing had so many red flags that Helen Keller would have picked up on it. The seller clearly states that the coin is in Mint condition contrary to the OP stating otherwise. A terrible photo, no feedback and a coin if slabbed would be worth a few thousand more. To top it off it is being sold by a stay at home 29 year old mother of a 9 and 1 year old. A foolish person and his money are soon parted. The seller is about to prove it again as the coin is relisted and receiving bids.

I'm very late to this thread (lots of stuff going on lately keeping me away), but I'm very impressed at how this progressed and the work done by many forum members to assist the OP. And great idea, @numismatic student, on having the picture taken with a number you'd given him. I'll have to remember that one!
