That is not a d!

Perhaps the seller's tipped a few too many, or it's a case of Pareidolia ....

Quote: I contacted the seller. He insists that it's a D. So it's no longer an "honest mistake." Quote: ... also just heard back from the seller. "Thank you I appreciate it I believe it is a D I have 1916 s and a great mag glass with a light it is a d thanks"

As of now, it is at 490.00 with 73 bidders and the starting price was 5.99 I noticed, and based on other responses I kinda wonder if our dear seller here actually knew it is an S mint but labeled it a D in the description. Whoever wins this might get a wee bit disappointed once they find out the value is minuscule compared to the actual D mintmark. Edit, as of now, less than 2-1/2 hours left to see how high can it go...

Quote: Check his sold items. He's done it before. And the last "1916d" sold is different than this one. Apparently BOTH were found in a jar from the 1960's according to the description. Add another ebay scammer to the list.

They got positive feedback for the last 1916-"D" which sold for $761 to a high feedback buyer...

Talk about living in the Twilight Zone. I can't believe he did it before & received a positive review? He responded back to me, perhaps he believes it to be a "D", obviously the buyers do too?

I'm completely baffled as to why the bidders think this is a D mint mark. Are they only looking at the description and not the pics of the coin itself?
