So the consensus is a 1907 in AU58 over 1908 in MS65?

Do you think the prices for the AU58 and MS65 are fair to you? Is one a relative better deal than the other? They are both fair? One is priced high but is pretty?

1907 is $2,1000 and 1908 is $2,500

I guess it comes down to rarer date vs quality

And the last and most important question: which one would make you happier? Down the road, which one do you think you will look at and think, that was a good buy and I am proud I did this? (Least likely to result in buyers remorse?) - Only you can answer this one.

The AU58 with good eye appeal might be a good "value" at $2100. But that's coming from a bunch of folk not actually about to drop $2K+. An MS65 for "only" $400 more at $2500 might have the appeal and higher grade combination that makes you happy even if its a more common coin in general. Its easy for us to give advice when our stake in the game is a few key strokes of our wisdom and experience. That $400 is more than many Community members spend in a year, some newbies have never spent $2500 ever on the hobby! You're the one about to tie up $2+ into a gold coin, so make it something that makes you happy to hold and look at and have on the personal balance sheet as it wont be ours to brag about and explain to the accountant.

I'd go for the 1908.

I think it's a great coin! I myself probably would have gone for the 1908 and paid more. But maybe next time, right?!

That is a beautiful coin!!! I wouldn't be regretting it. Hopefully you'll be adding lots more over time.

You made the choice I'd have made! I have a mid-AU and an MS gold piece and I'm a much bigger fan of my mid-AU in price and appearance.

Great pickup!

That looks like a great slider. It is the choice that I would have made. I would have eliminated the 62. All day everyday I will choose an eye appealing AU over an crappy looking MS coin.
