1970 canadian quarter was 100% nickel. See that brown edge on the quarter in the picture? That's not nickel, that's copper.

yeah, it's a semi true story, but it was likely from a San Francisco mint workers private stash of "messing with around with the machines".
you won't simply find something like that in circulation. A canada coin has no business in the u.s. mint to begin with, canada has it's own mints.

This is what I see when I zoom in on your coin, just because it doesn't match the one that is known doesn't mean there is more , it's just that everyone is only looking for it on that one particular coin. Who's to say it didn't happen again. I see the stamped 25 cents on the wing
