I mean they should re holder it for you and give a refund imo, the coin could have been rattling around the entire time. The othe day I ordered a burger and fries and a Rochefer 10(a beer but I like my fancy beer) from a local restaurant, the forgot the beer and gave a full refund on my entire order. PCGS should do the same imo.

They sent me a FedEx label to send it back and that they will "reholder it for free". I would hope.

Maybe they would've done more but I only have 8 days left on my membership with them and I opted not to renew. Don't know how much leverage that serves.

And in terms of expediting: all they will do is expedite entry into the system, but no expediting of re-holdering.

Hopefully it will not take as long this time. I wish you good luck!

Well I wasn't gonna risk just "popping it back in" and hoping it stays there.

I could only imagine what would happen if someone tried to sell something down the line and it was much more high value and in that condition.

Wow! Hopefully, this is a rare instance. And, if so, I wonder why PCGS would not also refund the cost of the submission in addition to the reholdering.

It is a rare event, but this isn't the first time it has been reported having a submission returned and the slabs not sealed.

Well this is the first I have ever heard of this kind of 'error' how would PCGS list it?
I'm glad that PCGS would take it back to fix this.

Just got the return tracking number, guessing it'll go out today. 3 weeks, which is better than turnaround times for grading I guess. lol

OMG, just got it back today. Normally I don't like to nitpick, but since I paid for it, while the coin is now properly sealed, they apparently swapped out the "Morgan 100th Anniversary" label for the generic gold shield label. If I hadn't paid for it, I wouldn't care, but it would be nice if they could just do it correct.

Seriously? What are they doing?

That is not a nitpick. That is another legitimate complaint.

Just for reference, here it is with the repaired holder that's now sealed. However, the silhouette of the Morgan that should be on the right side of the label is missing (compared to the pics on the first thread where it's visible). This is just a generic Gold Shield Label. As I said, I would just say forget it, but since I paid extra for it, it shouldn't be that hard for them to do this right the first time.

At least it still has the text, I guess.

Although I would be hesitant to send it again, I would still lodge a complaint. At least get a comp or a partial refund out of it.

I would not let that slide. I would strongly express my disappointment with the service I paid for.
