Nice find if Struck Through Grease. My first thought was acid, but acid would have eaten through the copper and into the zinc core.

Looks like a large strike through gritty grease to me. Very nice find! Congrats!

Look like the shrinks are after the strike. In 2020 the oilmen solution for striking need 300 deg C. to solidify. for me is really bizarre so big surface. I see the letters under this shrinks. More chime are need. Me I say characteristic to acid.

While it could have been Struck Through Grease, its sharp margins suggests that it was struck through a floating encrustation. That's basically a flake of "grease" that separated from some part of the press. Floating encrustations are most easily diagnosed when they appear on a second strike and not the first, and when both strikes were delivered by the same die pair.

The impressions of floating encrustations are incredibly common on Indian multi-strikes. Evidently their presses are filthy and constantly shedding flakes of compacted gunk.
