I am lowly Silver status. So I get the leftovers, which probably won't include Silver Dollar. What time (not date) do they open up the sales to the various club members? I think I picked the wrong time to check my orders (it's 7:24 PM EST). RCM website appears inaccessible, probably due to club members ordering their coins. I'll have to settle for the 1 kg gold coin, I guess.

Quote: Hoping for lots of sales this time? The Mint's gold and silver Platinum Jubilee coins have proven popular so far this year...maybe the Mint is expecting a bump in sales for the same-themed SD.

I saw a photo of the Platinum Jubiliee silver dollar at a local Post Office.
It will nicely compliment the two coin RM/RCM set put out earlier that I purchased, so yes I will order that one too. Her Majesty's lips aren't as puckered on this one.
I also liked the Majestic Polar Bear $5 coin with 'tamper proof packaging'.
Coin has been rotated 180 degrees in holder is in sideways and wondering whether that constitutes an error. Maybe I can sell it for $100 and make a profit. LOL.

It appears as if you are joking, but the question does get asked seriously from time to time... What you've described would be considered a packaging error, not a minting error. Such "errors" do not command a numismatic premium because they can often be created by third parties with mischievous - and misleading - intent.

Quote: It's against CCF policy to post images of the Mint's upcoming releases before they are made available to the general public. This policy still makes no sense to me. The "general" public needs to know as much as the top RCM buyers. Access to information shouldn't be modulated by the size of your wallet. This is bad 360 degrees all around.

With only Silver Status, I was able to order the SE Platinum Jubilee silver dollar today. 69.95 CAD for 0.745 ozt of silver, what a deal. It would have been a lot more eerie if the younger Queen was looking in the mirror at the older Queen. Wait, I guess that isn't a mirror but rather just a portrait.
The 99,500 CAD 1 kg gold Owl coin isn't available though. Too bad, I was going to get a tube of those.

The SD features a creative, well-executed commemorative design. I think it's going to be fairly popular.

I don't believe the condition is true... It is always against policy to publish RCM created materials, not just before general release. This is not a CCF driven policy and I invite moderators or Forum Dad to correct me but this applies to any and all copyright material for which you don't have copyright or a grant of right to use. If I take a picture of anything from a coin to a Lamborghini or an old Gibson guitar, it is my photograph and by copyright law... my copyright. I can grant that right to use... as I do when I publish on CCF. There are some exclusions such as when taking pictures in Europe of people or certain things (a night shot of a lit Eiffel Tower is protected by copyright regardless of the photographer) or a shot of folks where they may reasonably expect privacy. Were CCF to allow posting of copyright material without the grant of rights, they could be sued out of existence. If you want more examples of this, search for copyright takedowns on YouTube... You can't post a video with most commercial music as a backing track... Since the RCM own the copyright to the images they publish, if they don't grant you (or CCF) the right to publish then it is a violation of copyright to publicly publish that image. As to the marketing strategy, the RCM baffle me... There have been numerous discussions on this forum as to whether their approach makes sense but as of now... it is what it is.

@commems, I was indeed making light of the subject and certainly do not attach a collector value to this coin just because it is not aligned perfectly in the holder.
Recently saw a PL set with a flipped coin go for $100.
