You've made those rolls into something which has lasting collector value.

The mint has stated a "spring" release date for numismatic 2009 cents. They only spoke of in person sales and exchanges starting Feb. 12th for circulating cents.
I assume circulating rolls will go on sale in March but you never know. They will release them "as needed" and not necessarily when we want them.

Congratulations to those lucky ones who went to this wonderful event. What an event to remember! The cents are quite striking to the eye!

I was wondering if they would choose to ignore the law with reference to the obverse. I see they did. The law required them to use the original Brenner design
SEC. 305. SENSE OF THE CONGRESS.
It is the sense of the Congress that the original Victor David
Brenner design for the 1-cent coin was a dramatic departure from
previous American coinage that should be reproduced, using the
original form and relief of the likeness of Abraham Lincoln, on
the 1-cent coins issued in 2009.
That is not the original form and relief of the likeness of Abraham Lincoln. And the Brenner design did not have initials on the shoulder.

I currently am a teller at a bank and we were suppose to receive the Lincoln Cent a few days ago. We never got them in, then today we received an e-mail letting us know that non of the banks in the area will be receiving the coins, due to the fact that the fed doesn't have room for them and that there are too many cent's currently in circulation.
