VF20...looks like the rim is "dinged" on the left side.

Judging by the Obverse crown band it looks F-12 to me.

As I stated in a different thread, NGC's prowess in grading Canadian coins is nonexistent.

I would say that someone switched coins in the holder. Even NGC couldn't be that far off.

I thought of that - I drew around some identifying features that are in the official NGC photo that appears on their website when you punch in the verification #, & the photo I took myself.

Buy the coin...not the holder. Great example of grade inflation. Oh boy!!!!!

That's just horribly poor grading. Even if you aren't familiar with Canadian coinage (which you sure should be if you're grading and encapsulating it at a TPG!) how could anyone possibly mistake that for AU50? I've seen some terrible PCGS mid- and low-grade coins as well. It's disappointing, to say the least.

I personally can see that it could grade AU, look at the coin the eye and ear are barely touched and you can even see the buttons on Georges shoulder rims lettering and beads in the crown look good. These coins have been known to be struck weakly so I would say this is a AU coin just with a really weak strike.

I could maybe bump up to vf20-25 if weakly struck but I am not seeing AU on this coin, also I really think the coin has been cleaned based off the gunk in the corners of the devices but no where else in the fields and the lack of any natural luster.
