DO NOT TOUCH HE COIN WITH UNPROTECTED FINGERS.

Yes it is an SMS. Send to ANACS and ask for RDV-003 SMS.

I have watched the YouTube videos of the 3 backs of quarters to look for in that transition time but I thought mine reverse looked closer to a Type A because the ES in states are smooshed closer together than the other two types?

Does PCGS differentiate between the different reverse types?

Now that the 1/4 is out of the holder...how about a pic of the reverse?

The reverse photos of this quarter is just the quarter. I removed the lid of the case it was resting in but left the quarter resting inside the case as I took the photos.

Does the milk stain make the coin not worth the expense of grading it then? If I could sell the coin for a good deal of money, I absolutely would in a heartbeat, but I am hesitant to spend 300-500 dollars purchasing a membership to PCGS or ANACS and paying to ship the coin to not see a return on it or at best to break even.

None of the US coins had mintmarks on the 1965-1967 coins.
But all is not lost. When you look at your images, they are improving. I like the third image the best. (not as much light and it allows the coin to look the best.) Like a Glammer Shot.

@rain Why to pay the membership to certify one coin? ANACS will be 26$ with variety attribution plus the shipping on both sides. then when come to sell, this it is a game. because you has to find the best dealer for varieties, who has a list of really collectors. If you think E=Bay, you can expect 60 to 80 maximum. Those varieties after Type B not many knows. basic the SMS to day in very, very nice shape comes back 67 and the rest 64 to 66. I hope this help you.

I also have other coins in these SMS sets that I would like to show pictures and ask questions about. Should I create a whole new thread for each coin or can I just post them here on this current topic? I have plenty of other coins that I would like to send of in the hopes of having them grade well because I have been collecting change for a very long time. I just never really knew which ones were the most valuable or how to discern them until I started doing all the research these past few weeks. So I have all kinds of coins. I have saved every coin I could find that was 1983 and earlier. In the hopes of finding out which ones have the best chance or which ones are just worth face value.

In order for a coin to justify slabbing it needs a minimum retail value of $100-$150 after slabbing. You first need to determine what grade it is https://www.PCGS.com/photograde/ and then look up the retail selling price in said grade http://m.numismedia.com/rarecoinprices.htm and ebay sold values.
