If you have at least 8 coins that you want submitted at the regular level, the 8 free vouchers more than covers the cost of a one year platinum membership. They do still send out a membership package that includes several 2.5" x 2.5" Mylar flips, but it might take a couple weeks. You will need to pay the $10 submission fee and return postage even if using the vouchers. Since world coins need to be on a separate submission form, I would assume you pay a separate $10 submission fee, but I'm sure you could ship both submissions together in one package.

I did end up joining the PCGS Collectors Club to get the 8 "free" submissions. I sent in 11 total coins and they were received by PCGS today. I guess I am hoping to get them back by mid-April given the current 50 business day turnaround. The PCGS website states, "PCGS counts business days starting the day after the order is entered into the PCGS system and does not include the time it takes to open incoming packages to PCGS or to ship orders once they are completed."

How long does it take PCGS to open and order and put it in their system?

My coins are already in imaging. I am very surprised. One of the coins is listed incorrectly on my submission details - should I be concerned, or will they see that an 1809 half is not an 1809 cent?

That's remarkably fast! It's probably just a typo, but it wouldn't hurt to call them to be sure. It's much easier dealing with it now than having to send back a slab with an incorrect label.

I am having the same experience. My two submissions (2 orders, 11 coins total, all in same shipment box) are moving much faster than I thought. They were opened and labeled as "received" in 1 day on 2/3/23 and as of yesterday one order was in imaging and the other had moved to grading (still also says imaging, and this was my "club level order") already. I expect it to spend most of its 50 days sitting in "grading" status though.

As for the one that is labeled wrong, I would send an email to their customer service with the info, in the past I've heard of them flagging mistakes like that.

Fingers crossed for the both of us that we might have coins back before mid April!

I learned in the PCGS forum that "The "being imaged" tag shows up almost immediately and stays there through the whole process." So, it doesn't necessarily mean that grading is near done.

I have notified PCGS via email about the incorrect label. That coin is also being attributed, so other forum members assured me that it will not be updated until later in the process.

One of my "Regular" orders (5 classic quarters) went from received on feb 3 to encapsulation today. That seems really quick. The other one (6 coins) is still just sitting at received since Feb 3rd. Both orders were shipped in the same box. Just thought it was interesting to see one move so much faster than the other.

Be wary of joining to get the 8 free submissions. They can and do refuse to honour that as back about 2018 after I paid to renew my membership they emailed me stating that they would not grade any submissions from me. That included not being able to use the 8 free submissions (and they don't refund either).
So since then I didn't renew my membership and I no longer bother to pass on information to them about fakes that they have graded.

My order has moved to encapsulation and the 1809 half has been corrected. We'll see how long it takes to get the grades. I am still expecting April since a few of the half dollars go fo attribution - which should not be hard since I already did the work and they are easy ones to attribute.

I have no luck with my coins. PCGS hates me. When they see my submission they say put this one aside and take another order. My latest coins were finally received on Jan 23th. They finally made it in grading on this past Friday. Monday is 36 days and they are just starting my coins. What ever happened to 20 days like it said on my form I filled out. The good old run around. I know one thing as tough as ANACS was with the grading of my coins I always got them done at a great time. Anacs has always taken care of my coins and great with conservation.I am not renewing my membership with PCGS. I must admit there are probably people out there who have had a good experience with PCGS. I will not put down the company. I have just had bad luck with them.

Received my coins back today. Considering others timelines, I am happy with the turnaround and most of the grades.

Just got my two coins back from PCGS. One the grade was exactly what I thought. It was a 1926-s Standing Liberty quarter. The other was a 1997 Lincoln Cent. It was the nicest 1997 I have ever seen. The luster and everything was beautiful on the coin. The obverse did not even have a hairline scratch. The reverse did not have any either. Only thing on the reverse was a pencil spot of carbon between the pillars of the memorial. What a simply beautiful coin. Grade came back as 1997 ms67 RD. What a bummer. I have seen a lot of 1997 pennies graded MS67 RD by PCGS on ebay and the close up pictures were terrible. I couldn't believe the spots and crud on the coins and they were the same as mine. I can't wait for PCGS to post the gold shield picture on the site so I can bring the photos here. Maybe because I called three times asking if the coin was getting graded. They hate me. That's ok because I am not renewing my membership in April.
