I'm with Grapecollects on this one, I think the weak has a touch of weak strike holding it back. Still a super nice looking coin devoid of usual spotting. Is that a tiny planchet flaw around the lower ribbon end on the reverse left side?

I don't think the scratch on the cheek is enough to detail it, but that holds back the grade for me....MS63 maybe MS64. Strike is a little weak too. Still a nice looking coin!

Struck from worn dies, look at those reverse denticles & rim.

TrueView color is good, actual photo color looks altered/questionable.

But I'm going to go with PCGS on this one.

MS64

Hairline scratches on cheek and under RI in AMERICA

nb. PCGS does not give CuNi Indians color designators (no BN/RB/RD)

I liked this one for the grade! The close up pictures of it are from David Lawrence, not PCGS. I think the marks on the back restricted the grade, as did the hairline scratches on the obverse. This is the most expensive coin in my small cents collection, but still well under 1G! I'm proud!

It was 700. Strong for 63 when I got it, but hopefully now it seems like a fine price...
