I'm in the fence. Based on these it's looks to have light breaks in the luster and rub on the high points. If that's not as prominent in hand, then luster still looks subdued but may make MS. AU58- MS63 for me. Based on these , AU.

If the scratch through the N is on the coin, not the case, then MS63. Otherwise MS64.

Well I bet you all didn't see this coming. Difficult one to grade by the photos. Sold for $25,850.00 in 2014.

Who took the OP images, Heritage or NGC?

Heritage presumably, well that's where I saved them from.

Reminds me of my 1838 O dime (you can find the post about this one if you search for it), with very similar toning and being overgraded. To be honest, I would rather see mine in a PCGS MS(60) holder than its current NGC MS(62) holder, given the surface marks/scratches. I feel that color helped make NGC upgrade mine too much. From the pics we saw, this one seems like it should not be above 65, and I wonder if NGC did the same thing.

Looks like @panz was the closest grader on this one. always nice to get a calibration from having the TPG grade afterwards. Thx for the follow-up @toby!
