@CentSeeker The coin you are referring to is the 1982-D (Denver) small date copper which is not in his set. Only two are known as explained in the article you linked to and considered an error because of that.
@Believe Hopefully you will get some additional input on what others think of the doubled ear you think you found, but I linked to the info if you want to submit it and report back after depending on what others might say here. Generally we can only give opinions which may be helpful at times to save time and effort if something is not what it seems. The only existing doubled ear I'm aware of also is actually on 82-D large dates and is different.

Oh that's right! Thanks datadragon. Everytime I see the 1982 cents I get a little crazed.

This reminds me more of the single squeeze (class 9), doubled ears, than what you would see on an 82. That being said, I would lean towards MD or a plating issue. It would appear there is a lot of plating problems on this coin, judging from the full coin shot. I think an attributor would have to have this coin in hand to tell for sure though.

@makecents...Yea, I will have to send it to Coneca or James W. to find out for sure.

I would go with MD at this point as well. But if you send it in, I'll be curious to any results you get.

1982 small date zinc cent. How do I know it is a zinc cent? (The copper plating over the zinc dust)

The graders don't consider Machine Doubling and plating over zinc dust. Coin contact they do not ignore. But as a buyer, you would want to see these items not on a graded coin. When you go to sell them, they will be a problem coin to a serious collector. But the coin, not the plastic. If your not happy with their grade or coin, don't buy it. A problem coin will be a harder sale when you don't want them any longer.

Hi everyone! After contacting Conecaonline.org with images of the coin, they have concluded that its in fact Machine Doubling. I will like to thank Coincommunity and specially the experts at Coneca for saving my wallet to a bullet. Thanks again guys.
